About wool's wonderful properties, washing and cleaning the wool blanket:
Wool is self-cleaning; wool contains lanolin, which is a waxy fatty substance
Wool can absorb about 1/3 of its own mass in the form of water vapor without feeling damp
Wool is biodegradable and durable
In many cases, it may be enough to shake and air in fresh air for a couple of hours, wool is antibacterial and dirt is usually not absorbed into the wool fibers but settles on the outside. If you want to wash, we recommend machine washing wool program 30 degrees, and wool detergent. Machine programs are often gentler than hand washing as the temperature is precisely regulated. In addition, machine washing rinses out the rinse water with soap and dirt residues, and spinning allows the wool fabric to dry faster. Wet wool fabric can provide good conditions for bacterial growth through the residual water, even though wool is antibacterial.
Why a wool blanket?
Wool has three wonderful properties: it warms, insulates and breathes. Keeping your dog's muscles warm before and after walks and exercise can prevent injury and help your dog recover faster. The dog's body therefore does not need to use unnecessary energy to maintain body temperature.
Use of the wool blanket is excellent between the releases at hunting trials! The wool blanket can be useful for all dogs regardless of breed. Especially older dogs, dogs with injuries or osteoarthritis will often have poorer circulation and thus freeze more easily. Nobody likes to be cold! Wool should be the first choice for all dogs on cold and damp days! Feel free to stick your hand under the blanket to feel if the dog is cold or warm.
