The bed is made of thick wool, has a 4 cm foam mattress in the middle and built-up rigid edges of foam rubber - which can be removed for washing (zipper around the entire outer edge underneath). The wool edge bed is a favorite with dogs - because they can lie with their head on the edge, and because the bed has an outer edge that makes it easy for dogs to understand that this is my space and gives them a sense of security.
