Scent Box

In the scent tracking exercise of Obedience Class 3, 5–7 unmarked and 1 marked scent stick must be laid out. To make laying them out easier and to reduce the risk of picking up the “wrong” stick, we at Jamihundsport have developed this box. The box is 20x12x7 cm and has holes for 7 scent sticks. There is a larger hole with space for a cup where the handler’s stick is placed. When laying out the sticks, it is easy to retrieve them since they protrude by 4 cm. Thanks to the mug, the handler’s stick doesn’t need to be touched; it can simply be “poured” out into place. During the 2026 World Obedience Championship, two boxes were used so that one was always loaded. Here’s what the competition director had to say (after 120 scent-finding reports): “The box worked perfectly, and it was nice not to have to deal with bags of sticks—everything was right there when needed, very convenient,” was the feedback we received.
